Commentary
Having established in the previous verse that only Krishna can reveal His own nature, Arjuna now makes the request directly: tell me everything about Your divine manifestations. The word asheshena — “without remainder,” “in full detail” — shows the depth of Arjuna’s eagerness.
Arjuna is already satisfied with his personal knowledge gained through Krishna’s grace. He knows Krishna is the Supreme. But he asks this question not only for himself — it is for the benefit of all future seekers. How does the infinite God relate to the finite world? Through what forms and manifestations can ordinary people begin to perceive the Divine in everyday experience?
The word vibhuti is central to this entire chapter. It means divine opulence, extraordinary manifestation, or the special power by which God pervades creation. Arjuna is asking: in what forms do You exist within this world? What should I look at and see You in?
This question transforms the remainder of Chapter 10 into one of the most beautiful and practical sections of the Gita — a guided meditation on seeing the Divine everywhere. Krishna’s answer will take the listener through every domain of existence — celestial, natural, human, and cosmic — showing that wherever there is excellence, beauty, or power, there is a spark of His splendor.
