Bhagavad Gita 18:73 is Arjuna’s response to Krishna’s final question — and it is the climax of the entire Gita. In one verse, Arjuna declares his complete transformation. The man who collapsed in despair on the chariot in Chapter 1 now stands firm, clear, and ready to act.

Nashto Mohah — My Delusion Is Destroyed

The Gita began with vishada — Arjuna’s grief and confusion. It ends with nashto mohah — that confusion utterly destroyed. The word nashta means not merely reduced or managed, but annihilated. The root cause of Arjuna’s paralysis — his ignorance about the nature of the self, of duty, of the Divine — has been pulled out completely.

Smritir Labdhaa — My Memory Is Restored

This is a profound statement. What memory has Arjuna recovered? Not ordinary memory, but the soul’s knowledge of its own nature — its relationship with the Divine, its eternal identity beyond the body. The Gita’s teaching has awakened what was always there but had been forgotten under the spell of maya.

Tvat-Prasaadaat — By Your Grace

Arjuna does not claim the transformation as his own achievement. It came tvat-prasaadaat — by Krishna’s grace. This single phrase encapsulates the Gita’s teaching on the relationship between effort and grace. Arjuna listened, reflected, and engaged — but the transformation was ultimately a gift from the Divine.

Karishye Vachanam Tava — I Shall Do Your Will

The final words are the most important. Karishye vachanam tava — “I will carry out Your instruction.” This is not blind obedience. It is the freely chosen response of a soul that has seen the truth, been freed from delusion, and now acts from clarity rather than confusion. Arjuna will fight — not from anger or duty alone, but from surrender to the Divine will, understanding the deeper reality behind all action.
